Following the Cinematique concerts in early 2021 I've been involved in some more live jazz. To reflect this, I've updated my "past events" to list just some of the season's accomplishments. I've gone in alphabetical order, and starting with the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts in Winter Park, I've concluded a series of three successful performances there, starting with June 6, 2021 with my live trio concert including Marco Bojorquez (bass) and Greg Parnell (drums). As it proved an opportunity to play grand piano, I followed this with an addition to the trio, with Jeremy Fratti on saxophone/flute/clarinet making it a quartet. We introduced the group's new format, following a feature at Hollerbach's on August 5, with a live concert on August 8 at the Blue Bamboo. Some recordings from that performance can be found on my YouTube channel as I'm in the process of adding those recordings to my website.
A week later, on August 15 I returned to the Blue Bamboo for another Sunday afternoon concert, this time solely as a vibraphone player, with a tribute to the Terry Gibbs Dream Band. The Orlando Jazz Orchestra took the role of the Dream Band and we performed a number of the arrangements played by the Dream Band, such as "Tico Tico" and "Moonlight Serenade." In July I returned to the Hub on Canal with a solo performance featuring myself on piano and vibes.
There's more exciting jazz planned as on September 9, the Quartet featuring Jeremy Fratti will return to Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe with a selection of eight tunes for the opening hour, which starts at 6 PM.
